I was thinking of making a list of cool timber frames and tool stores in Maine so that traveling framers could enjoy seeing some interesting sites. For example, the Maine Historic Preservation Commission has published a pamphlet showing five "architectural trails" to help people find connected farm buildings or covered bridges, etc. Another example is the Pownelborough Courthouse, a 1766 hip roof timber frame building which the timbers were originally intended to be left exposed inside for your viewing pleasure.

Old Salem village in North Carolina and the Museum of Fronter Culture in Virginia are not to be missed.

A virtual tour could be done, too. Like listing the www.davistownmuseum.org website for all tool enthusiests to enjoy.

What interesting structures would you show me if I were coming to your state?
