I'm an amateur, and I'm working on a design for a Timber Frame cabin, and I have
a knee brace in an inconvenient spot. I'm wondering if this
is a good way to move it.

Here's the bent section of the original plan:

+---------------------------+------------------------------+
| / \ | / \ |
| / \ | / <--problem \ |
|/ \|/ knee brace \|
| | |
| | |
| | |
| | |
| | |
| | |
| | |

And my proposed solution:

+---------------------------+---------+-------------------+
| / \ | | / \ |
| / \ | | / \ |
|/ \| |/ \|
| | | |
| | | |
| | | |
| | | |
| | | |
| | | |
| | | |

Is this just as strong? Thanks, CB.
